FUNERAL SERVICES

Islamic Center of Nashville Funeral Services is a non-profit community service established in coordination with Al-Farooq Islamic Center to provide Islamic funeral and burial services to Muslims living in Nashville and surrounding areas.

General guidelines

  • The deceased Muslim shall be a resident of Davidson county or surrounding counties.

  • Completion of the Graveyard Contract Agreement and payment is required to initiate the process

  • The burial procedure must be led by ICN’s funeral representatives.

  • Any kind of fences, walls, or columns, are not permitted around or on the graves.

  • Pictures and statues are not permitted.

  • Headstones are allowed, but no higher than 2 feet above the ground.

  • No casket or any form of the box shall be used to bury the deceased.

  • Do not do anything to the graves without the approval of the funeral committee.

  • We are always looking for volunteers, especially Brothers/Sisters who are willing to help out in performing ghusl.

  • Applicants that declare financial inability to pay for the funeral service, will need to complete a request for financial assistance via Zakat funds and must provide information supporting their claim of financial hardship.

ICN funeral services (Janaza) Steps

  1. Initial call (funeral service line  (615) 200-0755) and completion of the paperwork and payment online 

  2. Transporting the body from any Greater Nashville location to Al-Farooq Islamic Center 

  3. Washing the body according to Islamic rites (Ghusl) and shrouding (Kafan) at Al-Farooq Islamic Center

  4. Arranging congregational funeral prayer (Salat-ul-Janazah) 

  5. Transporting the body to the final resting place

  6. Burying in ICN Cemetery located at 8256 River Road Pike, Nashville, TN 37209

  7. Community dua announcements by ICN (upon request)

  8. Azza and dua facilitation at ICN (upon request)


Funeral service cost: $3500 for the services listed above (all basic material costs included; Headstone is not included)
